A simple magnet produces a magnetic field which induces a current in the rotating flywheel, creating a force which is counter to the direction of the force produced by pedalling. The retarding force increases smoothly with speed and with magnet position which is set by an adjustment lever. The readout displays power in measured watts, heartrate, cadence, and other parameters. The position the rider on the bike matches very closely a normal riding position on the road, making workouts comfortable and an excellent off-road simulation. The bike also looks cool.
